Olivia Pinney is a Policy Data Analyst at Recidiviz. She began her career in management consulting, before transitioning into the public sector. She was a Senior Research Associate in the New York City Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice. In this role, she led quantitative analysis for initiatives including gun-violence intervention and addressing court backlogs for people detained pretrial. She most recently worked at MDRC, where she conducted and advised government entities on quantitative research for improving social programs. She earned a Masters in Computational Analysis and Public Policy from the University of Chicago, and holds a Bachelors in Mathematics from Amherst College. She continues to share her love of math by volunteering as a remedial math teacher. She enjoys spending time outside with her dog, hiking, reading and playing board games.
