Recidiviz is lovingly built and led from the bottom up. We’re a team of pragmatic idealists who align on our core values: humility, transparency, and collaboration.
Our State Engagement team partners with corrections leaders and staff to promote data-driven decision making to safely and fairly reduce the number of people in prison and on supervision.
Our Data Analysis and Data Science teams explore and process data to help corrections leaders and staff get a real-time picture of their system and identify opportunities for improvement.
Our Implementation Engineering team organizes and universalizes disjointed data to scale our impact. Our Software Engineering team designs, develops, tests, maintains, and improves our tools to deepen our impact.
Our Product Development and Design teams build easy-to-use tools to create a smaller, safer, more equitable criminal justice system.
Our Co-Founders started Recidiviz at Google to understand how technology could accelerate bipartisan momentum to end mass incarceration. In 2018, Recidiviz became a standalone civic tech non-profit driving better criminal justice outcomes.
A diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace is essential to our mission. People come to Recidiviz to contribute to an urgent cause, and to work alongside incredible coworkers who care as much as they do. To ensure that we’re building intentional products and amplifying the work of others in the reform ecosystem, we are committed to fostering a diverse team that reflects the people we serve.
We combine the efficiency of a tech company with the heart of a non-profit. Recidiviz began as a volunteer project at Google and has since grown into one of the brightest, kindest teams that civic tech has to offer. Our north star: safely and fairly shrinking the criminal justice system.
