This month’s updates to the Recidiviz Corrections Platform, driven by insights and feedback from our partner agencies. Feature suggestions? Email feedback@recidiviz.org

Plan Home Visits with Route Planner

  • Driving Route Builder for Home Contacts: Officers can now plan an optimized driving route between clients' homes directly from within the Supervision Assistant. Select clients who are due for a home contact, and the tool plots them on a map with turn-by-turn directions, estimated drive time, and total distance—making it easy to batch visits and cut down on time on the road.
  • Office Address Auto-Detection: The route planner automatically sets the officer's assigned office as the starting and ending point for their route, while still allowing them to override it with any address using a built-in search bar.

More Helpful Insights for Supervisors

  • Separate Outcomes for Parole and Probation: The Outcomes module in the supervisor homepage now breaks out metrics by supervision type, so supervisors can see how their officers' outcomes compare against the right peer group. Parole supervisors see parole benchmarks; probation supervisors see probation benchmarks, giving leadership a clearer, fairer picture of officer performance and where coaching can be helpful. This was one of our most-requested features from supervisors who manage officers on a single supervision type.

Calculate Complex Sentences

  • Support for Additional Sentence Structures: The time computation calculator now handles a broader range of sentence configurations, including edge cases around concurrent and consecutive sentences, life sentences with the possibility of parole, partial good-time credit accrual, and multiple-count aggregation—covering more of the scenarios time comp staff encounter in practice.
  • Net Remaining Time Calculation: Users can now calculate the "net remaining" time to serve derived from the Imposed and Suspended time, giving time comp staff a faster path to the number that matters most.
  • Judge-Imposed Minimum Mandatory Input: Staff can now enter the actual judge-imposed minimum mandatory duration, allowing the calculator to account for cases where the mandatory minimum differs from the statutory default.

Helping Residents Understand the Path Home

  • Transparent Good Time Restoration: Residents can see whether past choices — like refusing programming — are blocking their Good Time restoration, and how close they are to becoming eligible again, reinforcing the incentive to stay violation-free.
  • Auto-Synced Reentry Checklist: When staff mark reentry tasks completed in their OMS — like confirming a resident has their ID, birth certificate, or Medicaid application on file — those items are now automatically checked off on the resident's Reentry Checklist. This keeps residents informed of their own progress without requiring duplicate data entry from staff.
