This month's updates to the Recidiviz Corrections Platform, driven by insights and feedback from our partner agencies. Feature suggestions? Email feedback@recidiviz.org

Resource Matching in the Case Planning Assistant

  • A Resource Bank for Every Section of the Plan: Each section of the Action Plan now includes a dedicated set of resource tiles — showing provider name, address, phone number, distance, and website — displayed at the bottom of each section and included in printed and exported PDFs. This approach ensures that Action Plans have the most accurA ate information available.
  • Automatically Populated, Staff-Controlled: The Case Planning Assistant suggests resources based on the individual's assessed needs and location. Staff can remove ones that don't apply, and search for and add additional resources using an upgraded provider directory.

Stronger Safety Controls in the Case Planning Assistant

  • Real-Time Guardrails for the Chatbot: The Case Planning Assistant now enforces a layered set of safety checks on every conversation, including character-limit enforcement, prompt-injection detection, and crisis detection with a content moderation backstop. When any check fires, the chatbot locks and staff receive an alert; a staff member must explicitly review and unlock the intake before it can continue.
  • Required Staff Review Before Printing: A new confirmation step requires staff to acknowledge they've reviewed the plan before downloading or printing, reinforcing the human-in-the-loop standard built into every Recidiviz deployment.

District and Regional Director Dashboards

  • Granular Metrics for Mid-Level Leaders: District and regional directors can now access a dedicated dashboard view within the Recidiviz staff app, breaking out by individual office the metrics they're familiar with from state leadership reports by. This gives directors the data they need to have more targeted conversations with individual supervisors.

Improved Tools for Residents

  • Auto-Filled Reentry Readiness Items: Items that staff can verify (e.g., ID status) are pre-populated in the app-based reentry checklist, so residents only need to worry about the items that they must take care of themselves.
  • Early Alerts When Good Time Restoration Is Within Reach: When a resident is approaching eligibility at a participating facility, their tablet app now receives a proactive alert surfacing a clear, near-term incentive to stay violation-free.
  • Transparency Into What's Blocking Restoration: Residents can now see specifically why they aren't yet eligible for good time restoration.
