Zachary Katz joined Recidiviz in February 2020 as its first State Engagement Manager. Previously, he held senior strategy and product analytics roles at Scentbird and Oliver, two New York-based tech startups, but began his career managing cross-portfolio strategy and launching new cancer medicines for Genentech. Besides volunteering with the SF LGBT Center and the GLBT Historical Society Museum, Zak enjoys creative writing, practicing cello, and learning languages, from Mandarin to Python. He holds an A.B. summa cum laude in History of Science, Biochemistry, and English Literature from Harvard College and an M.Phil. with Distinction from a joint program in Biotechnology and Economics at the University of Cambridge.
A diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace is essential to our mission. People come to Recidiviz to contribute to an urgent cause, and to work alongside incredible coworkers who care as much as they do. To ensure that we’re building intentional products and amplifying the work of others in the reform ecosystem, we are committed to fostering a diverse team that reflects the people we serve.
We combine the efficiency of a tech company with the heart of a non-profit. Recidiviz began as a volunteer project at Google and has since grown into one of the brightest, kindest teams that civic tech has to offer. Our north star: safely and fairly shrinking the criminal justice system.
