Zack Goodman is a Senior Data Scientist at Recidiviz, leading our research efforts to better understand the effects of state policies and programs as well as Recidiviz tools. He joins us from UC San Diego where his academic research included estimating the impacts of tax policies on nutritional choices and conducting field experiments to help improve teaching methods. Previously, Zack interned at Quora and built a website, GPSRace, that facilitates safe cycling competition during the COVID-19 pandemic. When not in front of the computer, he loves training for (para)triathlon and can usually be found swimming, biking, or running. Zack holds a Ph.D. in Economics from UC San Diego and B.S. in Economics and Mechanical Engineering from NC State University.
A diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace is essential to our mission. People come to Recidiviz to contribute to an urgent cause, and to work alongside incredible coworkers who care as much as they do. To ensure that we’re building intentional products and amplifying the work of others in the reform ecosystem, we are committed to fostering a diverse team that reflects the people we serve.
We combine the efficiency of a tech company with the heart of a non-profit. Recidiviz began as a volunteer project at Google and has since grown into one of the brightest, kindest teams that civic tech has to offer. Our north star: safely and fairly shrinking the criminal justice system.
