Unique is a Sociologist and Criminologist. In her role as a university professor, she employs a holistic pedagogy that emphasizes the relationship between knowledge, wisdom, data, and lived experiences to foster critical analysis of ideologies of power, privilege, and oppression. Other experiences include project management for incarcerated populations and data analytics. Unique enjoys spending her time buying books she doesn’t have time to read, lingering in coffee shops, and hosting poetry open mics. She has a BA in Criminal Justice from Cal State Chico and a MA and PhD in Sociology from Bowling Green State University.
