Jazz Pouls is a Data Analyst at Recidiviz, currently working on the Spark team. Since graduating summa cum laude from UC Berkeley with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, they have split their time between the tech and food industries, interfacing with servers in both cases. They’ve done software engineering at Salesforce and CityBase, researched frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) LiDAR in the UCB Optoelectronics Lab, volunteered with Recidiviz and served/bartended at an alarming number of restaurants. Jazz enjoys thrifting, playing piano, trying new drinks and scouring Spotify for new music to play on repeat. They are also an aspiring pool shark.
A diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace is essential to our mission. People come to Recidiviz to contribute to an urgent cause, and to work alongside incredible coworkers who care as much as they do. To ensure that we’re building intentional products and amplifying the work of others in the reform ecosystem, we are committed to fostering a diverse team that reflects the people we serve.
We combine the efficiency of a tech company with the heart of a non-profit. Recidiviz began as a volunteer project at Google and has since grown into one of the brightest, kindest teams that civic tech has to offer. Our north star: safely and fairly shrinking the criminal justice system.
