# Recidiviz > Recidiviz is a non-profit criminal justice data and technology platform. It partners with U.S. state departments of corrections, as well as large city and county justice systems, to unify fragmented, siloed data into a standardized layer, then uses that layer to power a modular corrections software platform covering everything from intake to reentry. The goal: save agency staff time, surface what's working, and safely and fairly reduce incarceration. Key facts: - Started as a volunteer project at Google in 2017; became an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit in 2019. - Partners with 19+ state departments of corrections, together responsible for roughly half of the U.S. prison and community-supervision population, as well as large city/county systems. - Funded by foundations, not shareholders — not a for-profit vendor. - Open source: code is public at https://github.com/Recidiviz. - Named to Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies of 2026. ## Company - [About](https://www.recidiviz.org/about): Mission, the problem being solved, impact metrics (states partnered, people reached, dollars saved), founders, board, and advisors. - [Team](https://www.recidiviz.org/team): Staff bios. - [How We Work](https://www.recidiviz.org/approach): Core principles — transparency and accountability, co-designing tools with impacted people and practitioners, and focusing on outcomes over outputs. - [Testimonials](https://www.recidiviz.org/testimonials): Quotes from partner-agency staff and leadership. - [Careers](https://www.recidiviz.org/careers): Open roles. - [Press](https://www.recidiviz.org/press): Media coverage and annual impact reports. - [Blog](https://www.recidiviz.org/blog): Product updates, policy insights, and essays on approach. - [Contact](https://www.recidiviz.org/contact): General inquiries. ## Platform & products - [Platform overview](https://www.recidiviz.org/platform): The Recidiviz Corrections Platform — a modular system that can replace or supplement a legacy OMS, deployed module by module from intake through reentry. - Platform modules: [Presentence Investigation](https://www.recidiviz.org/platform-modules/presentence-investigation), [Intake](https://www.recidiviz.org/platform-modules/intake), [Dynamic Classification](https://www.recidiviz.org/platform-modules/dynamic-classification), [Sentencing & Time Comp](https://www.recidiviz.org/platform-modules/sentencing-time-comp), [Tablet App](https://www.recidiviz.org/platform-modules/tablet-app), [Restrictive Housing](https://www.recidiviz.org/platform-modules/restrictive-housing), [Programming](https://www.recidiviz.org/platform-modules/programming), [Case Planning](https://www.recidiviz.org/platform-modules/case-planning), [Meetings](https://www.recidiviz.org/platform-modules/meetings), [Supervision Tasks](https://www.recidiviz.org/platform-modules/supervision-tasks), [Supervision Classification & Discharge](https://www.recidiviz.org/platform-modules/supervision-classification-discharge) ## Trust & safety - [AI FAQ](https://www.recidiviz.org/ai): How and why Recidiviz uses AI — always human-in-the-loop, checked for bias, never used to train third-party models on partner data, and optional for partners to opt out of. - [Security](https://www.recidiviz.org/security): SOC 2 Type 2, CJIS, NIST 800-53, and HIPAA-aligned controls; encryption in transit and at rest; hosted on Google Cloud Platform; details also at security.recidiviz.org. ## Optional - [GitHub](https://github.com/Recidiviz/): Open-source codebase. - [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/company/recidiviz/) - [Terms of Service](https://www.recidiviz.org/legal/terms) - [Privacy Policy](https://www.recidiviz.org/legal/privacy-policy) - [Responsible Disclosure / Vulnerability Disclosure Program](https://recidiviz.org/security#contact)
